Community Supported Agriculture
Check back in 2017 for details on registration!
CSA refers to a model of farming in which farmers sell harvest shares (vegetables, flowers, meat, etc.) directly to people in the local community. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It represents a shared commitment: community members commit to the farm for the season, providing farmers, or in this case, Pie Ranch, with a secure customer base, and Pie Ranch commits to doing their utmost to provide the local community with the best-quality, most nutritious food around.
Your membership supports Pie Ranch's unique youth and emerging farmers educational programs. Pie Ranch offers paid internships to high school youth during the school year and summer months, using the farm as a platform to teach food system and community organizing. Our emerging farmers program trains a small group of individuals seeking to be organic farmers committed to social justice. During CSA season, these two programs merge their efforts to grow, harvest, and deliver the best food our soils have to offer! We are honored and grateful to grow food for you.
Depending on the time of the year, you can expect a combination of the following: leafy greens; herbs; fresh fruit and berries; dry beans; potatoes; broccoli; cauliflower; tomatoes; peppers, and anything else our Central Coast climate allows.
Fall Half Season Shares cost $312 and run for 12 weeks Sept 7th - November 22nd
